Proud teacher Heather Cook says: “Wanted to share a little Rube Goldberg love with you from a 1st grader at my school. After watching your video for This Too Shall Pass, he was inspired to make his own Rube Goldberg machine and this little video with an OK GO soundtrack.” Thanks to Audri for his Rube Goldberg Monster Trap!

As if simply DOING the Chevy Sonic “Bungee” stunt (while streaming it LIVE to the Internet!) wasn’t reward enough (case study video), the team here at Syyn Labs has the honor of having a spot with video of the stunt air during this year’s Super Bowl!

Watch for it during the second quarter!

Congrats to all of the Syyners and friends who helped make this possible – especially Davis Galligan, David Mesloh, Matt Samsel, Dan Busby, Hector Alvarez, Mike Russek, Will Reeve, Gilles d’Amecourt, Kenny Abney, Chris Stockton, and Sam Leventer.

And check out the use of the OK Go Rube Goldberg Machine video in another Chevy Superbowl spot!

Thanks Chevy and OK Go!! We love you, too!

Syyn Labs Workshop: Computer Vision & Kinect Hacking

Sunday, January 29th, 12pm-4pm at Droplabs near Dowtown LA

Limited space – RSVP here: http://syynlabs.eventbrite.com

WHAT: You can gaze longingly into your robot’s eyes… but does it gaze back? Computers can perceive the visual world through special cameras, and by employing algorithms and techniques generally known as “computer vision.” In this workshop, you’ll learn some basic computer vision techniques which you can use to make interactive art, perceptive robots, or just fun games.

WHO: If you’ve ever wanted to try your hand at “Kinect hacking,” but you have no previous experience with computer vision, then this workshop is for you. However… Computer vision is a sophisticated topic, and should not be undertaken as a first programming pursuit. You should be comfortable writing code in a language like C, C++, Java, or Python.

Los Angeles, CA (10.19.2011)—“Some people play with blocks; we play with shipping containers,” deadpanned Syyn Labs President Adam Sadowsky, director of the latest launch stunt produced via Motion Theory for the new Chevy Sonic. To introduce the all-new 2012 Sonic with a bang, Chevrolet agency Goodby Silverstein & Partners commissioned the mischievous rocket scientists at Syyn Labs to devise an unforgettable stunt that would incorporate online and social media fan participation.   The stunt can be viewed live at www.letsdothis.com.

Today we unveil a new project. We couldn’t be more excited!

Recently, we were invited to produce a new machine for the store window of Willy Wonka’s store-within-a-store at the Toys R Us in Times Square, New York. The project concept was straightfoward – produce a machine that announced and promoted their Golden Ticket promotion. But this is for Wonka. We had to do something very, very special.
